MES Weekly Update 10.23

Posted Date: 10/23/26 (12:32 PM)

Hello MES Families!
This week, we hosted our first MES Parent Night of the school year! I had the opportunity to connect with families and engage in meaningful conversations about navigating conflicts at school, helping children work through challenges, and understanding how we respond when students make choices that may impact themselves or others.
At MES, we believe that mistakes are opportunities for learning and growth. When students make a poor choice, our goal is not simply to address the behavior, but to help them reflect on their actions, understand the impact of their choices, and develop the skills needed to make better decisions in the future. This work is rooted in our CARES values and our commitment to helping every child grow socially, emotionally, and academically.
I'm sharing the resources from our Parent Night here, including several scenarios that families can use to spark conversations at home. I encourage you to take a look and consider discussing these situations with other adults in your household or even with your children! These conversations can be a wonderful way to help children think through challenging situations, practice problem-solving, and feel more confident navigating conflicts when they arise.
Thank you to the families who joined us for such thoughtful conversations! We truly value our partnership with you as we work together to help our students learn, grow, and make safe, responsible choices.
Please also see the infographic below for the week ahead, and please be sure to read the letter about Halloween.
Have a great weekend!
