November 2011
Dear Parents/Guardians,
In the event of an emergency such as extreme weather conditions or loss of utilities, the Evesham Township Schools will be closed. The district's emergency closing number is #657. Information regarding closing of schools will be given on Channels 3, 6, 10, Comcast Channel 19, Verizon Channel 21 and KYW Radio 1060. All information will also be placed on the district website (www.evesham.k12.nj.us) as well as www.KYW1060.com, www.NBC10.com and www.6ABC.com. We will also attempt to contact you using our Global Connect Phone System.
On occasion, we have utilized a two-hour delayed opening of our schools due to inclement weather conditions or other emergencies. Delayed openings will only be used if it is determined that the children and staff can safely attend school and the forecast indicates improving conditions. In the event that we have a two-hour delayed opening, please refer to the reverse side of this letter for detailed emergency procedures.
DELAYED OPENING REMINDERS:
1. ALL BUS STUDENTS SHOULD REPORT TO THEIR BUS STOPS TWO HOURS AFTER THEIR REGULARLY SCHEDULED TIME.
- BOTH AM AND PM KINDERGARTEN CLASSES WILL ATTEND THE AFTERNOON SESSION OF KINDERGARTEN.
- DISMISSAL AT ALL SCHOOLS WILL BE THE SAME AS USUAL.
- All PRESCHOOL CLASSES WILL BE CANCELLED.
- ALL ELEMENTARY (K-5) CLUBS WILL BE CANCELLED.
- LUNCHES WILL BE SERVED AS USUAL.
- AM ECC WILL OPEN AT 9:00 AM. SAME PM PICK-UP OF 6:00 PM.
On a rare occasion, we may need to utilize an early dismissal procedure. Should this occur, we will try to give parents prior notice. In the rare event of such an early dismissal, we will cancel all AM and PM Preschool classes and we may choose to either bring the PM Kindergarten students in the morning or cancel PM Kindergarten.
Thank you for your help. Your cooperation is greatly appreciated.
Sincerely,
John Scavelli, Jr.
Superintendent of Schools
